My Musical Start: This was unavoidable. Both my parents are musicians and my entire family is musically aligned on both sides, many sustaining careers in the field. As Joel's bio should confirm, we grew up in Nashville where our father pursued a career as a songwriter for Word Inc. Choir, musicals, band and studio work all revolved around church for me and my two brothers. It all just continues to snowball for us, in a disastrously awesome way.
My Musical Influences: There are none more prominent than my father, but when in need of inspiration, I tend to also turn on the David Crowder Band, Damien Rice, Lauryn Hill, Lisa Hannigan, Explosions in the Sky, Hillsong, Imogean Heap, Shane & Shane and the various classical symphonies of Haydn, Mozart and Bach.
Something Unique: To me, October smells like an old library book.
Something Funny: I make strange noises when I'm by myself. Little explosions of sound. I have no idea where they come from or what they are for.
